Toronto To Launch New Downtown Enforcement Blitz Oct 5

When Mayor John Tory announced his first towing and enforcement blitz in Toronto it caught many commercial and passenger vehicle operators off guard.

OTA received notice that another ticket & tow blitz in the City of Toronto will begin on October 5. The news was confirmed by Mayor Tory in statements made to the media. This program will once focus on both passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles – with emphasis during the rush hour period. OTA will continue to share details with members as they become available.

OTA is also working with City officials on a larger freight transportation study plan; OTA believes there is a sensitivity at the City of Toronto offices to the importance of this study, and how it addresses stakeholders in developing long-term solutions to curbside delivery. This blitz will heighten the need for this study’s terms of reference to be shared with stakeholders in advance. OTA will continue to communicate progress made on this front to members as well.
