This exclusive OTA event will provide up-and-coming managers and executives an exclusive chance to hear from those who already answered those questions and made their way to the top of the trucking industry.

OTA has assembled a panel of heavy-hitting trucking industry leaders who will be attending the 89th annual Executive Conference on November 4-5th for an exciting new workshop entitled Leaders Building Leaders. It will be held on November 5th from 9:00am-2:45pm at the Ritz Carlton in downtown Toronto. It’s an event not to be missed!

This one-of-a-kind session is designed in partnership with the Schulich Executive Education Centre (SEEC), and developed for senior leaders within the trucking industry to impart their leadership lessons to the Next Generation of managers and executives. They’ll share personal success stories and insights into what it takes to be a great leader and how they were able to make a significant impact to the success of their businesses.

The workshop will begin with a keynote address, followed by a 90-minute panel discussion with an all-star list of trucking’s most successful executives and decision makers:

  • Dan Einwechter, Chairman and CEO, Challenger Motor Freight
  • Murray Mullen, Chairman, CEO and President, Mullen Group
  • Rob Penner, President and COO, Bison Transport
  • Mark Seymour, President/CEO, Kriska Transportation
  • Scott Tilley, OTA Chair, and Co-President, Tandet Group

Following the panel will be a revealing, in-depth discussion on leadership philosophies as well as leadership-building activities designed to provide practical tools which will help participants continue their ascent up the leadership ladder.

Other key topics and themes for the panel and throughout the session will include:

  • Transitioning from managing to leading – What separates managers from leaders?
  • What differentiates the best emerging leaders – What do great leaders do?
  • Defining career moments – How do you become a great leader?
  • Accelerating personal development – How do you get the big chair?

The workshop will be moderated by award-winning Talent and Leadership Strategist, Glem Dias, from the Schulich Executive Education Centre at York University. It will also include a continental breakfast and invitation to OTA’s signature walk-around reception and lunch where carriers, suppliers and allied trades members can network and discuss the day’s events.
