One of the benefits of OTA’s Next Generation program is the informal networking inside and outside of the classroom. The next generation of leaders know the advantage of networking – they do it all of the time. But do they know how to network? Sounds easy, but it’s not. Networking for business results really is a skill – there are do’s and don’ts and it takes practise.
OTA’s LEAD Committee, a group of emerging leaders who are committed to engaging youth within the trucking industry, invite you to listen, engage and participate in “Next Gen Connections – a highly informative and interactive networking session slated for Nov. 9, at OTA’s 90th Executive Conference at the Ritz Carlton in Toronto. The session will be led by Brenda Allen from Davis Pier Consulting.
Why are networking skills becoming so important? In an industry where relationships are key to success, having the right networking skills can lead to new business dealings, expanded networks and a growing peer community. Here’s what John Foss and Ryan Tilley, OTA LEAD Committee Co-Chair’s have to say about the event:
“We’re excited to launch Next Gen Connections at OTA’s 90th Convention, as part of our continued efforts to engage emerging leaders in the industry with skills development opportunities. We strongly encourage members to come to this highly anticipated event. It will be a great opportunity to make connections with others who are both new to the OTA and future leaders within the industry.”
The event will also launch the LEAD Committee’s new Business Leader’s Certificate program with the Schulich School of Business. The program will build from the highly successful Next Generation Certificate program, with the mandate of preparing, inspiring and engaging the next generation of industry leaders through continuous integrated skill development.
This session is open to current Next Generation Certificate program participants and program alumni, along with Team OTA sponsors and event invitees for the cost of $75. Hurry though, availability for this special event is limited.
