Minister Mulroney Meets OTA Reps in Sudbury to Talk Business, N. Ont Issues
The Honourable Caroline Mulroney continues to work with the trucking industry to assist carriers in every part of the province by listening to ideas intended to eliminate red tape as well as promoting the “Open for Business” mandate of the Government of Ontario.
Visiting OTA Board member Manitoulin Transport’s terminal in Sudbury, Minister Mulroney heard from Jeff King, President, Manitoulin Transport, about many of these opportunities from a carrier operating in northern Ontario.
“The Government of Ontario is listening to the concerns of our sector. We appreciated the opportunity to host the minister and highlight these important issues as well as those which specifically matter most to carriers serving northern Ontario,” said OTA Board member Jeff King. “By working together and eliminating red tape in government programs we can make the trucking industry in northern Ontario safer, greener and more efficient, which bodes well for the future of all northern Ontario communities.”
Also attending the meeting were OTA Chair and ONE For Freight President, David Carruth; Stephen Laskowski, President, OTA; Geoff Wood, Senior VP, OTA; and Geoff Walker, VP of Grant’s Transport.
“On behalf of OTA, I would like to thank Minister Mulroney for showing a keen interest in our sector and the issues we face. Together we are going to make a great industry even better,” said OTA Chair Carruth.
