Bison Opens New State-of-Art Hub in Mississauga

Bison Transport has invested more than $25 million on a new Mississauga terminal.

Bison owns 22 acres of land in the Mississauga region, and construction of the 19,000 square foot state-of-the-art terminal in Mississauga is now complete.

Over 100 guests attended the official grand opening this week, which included tours and a special, trucking-style ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The new facility is located near the Dixie/401 interchange and will become the primary Eastern Canadian hub for Bison’s growing highway and regional fleets that serve the Ontario & Quebec marketplace. It will help facilitate the company’s plans to double its fleet size in Ontario within the next two years.

The new building is the company’s second largest in Canada – only after its Winnipeg home base. It’s wide, open-concept design is meant to pay tribute to the company’s Prairie roots.

The facility is environmental and very driver-friendly. It features a warm, fully-loaded driver lounge equipped with comfortable couches, big screen TVs and free internet. Drivers and staff also have access to a gym,  showers and washer-dryers 27/7.

The company’s old building next door  is now serving as Bison’s new maintenance shop.
