Recently Toronto mayoral candidate John Tory announced a “zero tolerance” policy for delivery vehicles blocking lanes on major arteries in the downtown areas and towing offenders who break the rules during rush hour.
The issue of restrictions and commercial parking in the downtown area of Toronto to deal with congestion has been one that OTA has dealt with for over 20 plus years. Various solutions have been attempted over the years – permits; zone parking; central distribution depots etc. Recognizing that downtown congestion is getting worse but product has to be delivered, OTA would like to hear from members who deliver in the downtown area with regards to possible solutions.
OTA asks that interested carriers please take a few minutes to provide input by completing a brief survey.
