RIP: Charles Gunn


Former Service to Industry Award recipient, Charles Gunn, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Headwaters Health Care Centre, Orangeville at the age of 90.

He started in the trucking industry as an owner-operator and eventually became  truck salesman and executive at Kenworth Canada.

Charles was also known as Chuck, Chas, Red, Dad and Grampy to his family and friends. He was a member of the Canadian Army and was trained as a parachutist. Charles grew up with 3 brothers in Weston, Ontario. He loved cottage life at Six Mile Lake, golf, winters as a snowbird in Florida and always enjoyed barbequing.

Cherished husband of 61 years to Joan (nee Ehnes); loving father to Kevin Gunn (Hilda); proud grampy to Melissa (Tyler) and Ryan (Robyn); great grampy to Annabelle and Noah. Predeceased by his parents Maytie and Arthur Gunn and brothers David, Donald and Robert.

A private family burial has taken place at Greenwood Cemetery, Orangeville.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Headwaters Health Care Foundation, Orangeville or SickKids Hospital, Toronto.
