MTO has released Reduced Load Limit Designation and Schedules for 2025.
Reduced load limit enforcement will depend on weather conditions. For the 2025 season, some zones have already commenced implementing reduced loads due to unseasonably warm weather. Based on long-range forecasts, it is anticipated that reduced loads will likely be implemented in the remaining zones in the coming weeks. As in the past, the Head of Operational Services will determine the dates for reduced load limit enforcement and will provide public notification of the start and end dates for each region.
At the discretion of Regional Directors, “Reduced Load Notices” referring to the applicable reduced periods (Schedules 1, 2, and 3) will be published on Ontario 511 under Truck and Bus Info (https://511on.ca/list/seasonalloads). The Traveller Communications Office will also be notified at the same time.
Additionally, this designation includes the reduction in allowable weights authorized by the Highway Operations Permits Office for the movement of heavy vehicle loads, objects, or structures on all provincial highways.
