Part of Route 133 in PQ Closed June 5-July: Ministry Stresses Truckers Use Alternative Routes

Quebec’s Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable will resume construction work on the Highway 35 extension in the Pike River and Saint-Armand area.

As part of this work, Route 133 will be completely closed from June 5 to mid-July, between Morgan Road in Pike River and Champlain Road in Saint-Armand.

This closure is necessary to complete construction of the new Chemin Champlain overpass over Route 133, and to prepare its connection to the future traffic circle.

Although detours with reduced speed limits have been set up, ( Southbound: chemins Morgan and du Moulin; Northbound: chemins du Moulin, des Carrières and Marier, rang St-Henri and chemin Morgan), the Ministry stresses these municipal roads are relatively narrow and made of gravel, and officials strongly recommend that all truckers plan an alternative route.

It is strongly recommended to use border crossings other than the St-Armand/Philipsburg point of entry and also to avoid using restricted roads (such as Chemin St-Armand or Route 235.

The detour route will be closed to oversize/overweight vehicles and loads.
