With the Pan Am and ParaPan Games in Toronto just around the corner, OTA has assembled a few resources to help carriers learn about some of the temporary changes to the road network from June 29 – August 18.
During the Games, some routes will be busier than normal, especially during rush hour. Temporary traffic measures such as parking restrictions or turning bans will put in place in some areas as a measure to help reduce congestion or delays near certain venues. In addition to traffic measures near events, some measures will be used throughout the Games period such as – new temporary HOV lanes, coordinated construction schedules to keep lanes open, integrated response from police and road crews to clear delays.
OTA has assembled some resources which carriers may find useful when planning during the games, including information on temporary traffic measures around the GTA. OTA members can contact jonathan.blackham@184.107.41.74 for a copy.
