The Ontario Trucking Association (OTA) and its Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) Committee are excited to host the first alumni event for graduates of the Next Generation and OTA-Schulich ExecEd program at Truck World on April 18.
The inaugural session will bring together past grads in an informal environment and include the ability for registrants to walk the showroom floor, have lunch with OTA Board members, participate in a presentation on the hot topic of strategic thinking and enterprise mindset, as well as an exclusive networking event with OTA members and program alumni.
“The alumni initiative was borne out of the desire from the bright young leaders graduating from the program that want to be more connected with former grads and continue their passion for learning. The ability to network and learn should never stop, and we are excited to introduce this new avenue to allow program grads the ability to continue to build their social and business networks within our essential industry,” says Sukhy Hayre, controller, XTL Transport, OTA LEAD Committee Chair.
All program alumni are highly encouraged to register a guest to attend the event, whether they are a co-worker interested in certain topics or someone that would like to learn more about LEAD and OTA. This is a great opportunity for members and emerging leaders to connect, network and learn from each other.
Eligible graduates of the Next Generation or OTA-Schulich ExecEd program will be sent an email invite to register for the event at a cost of $50 per person. Further details such as the schedule of events is included below.

Schedule of Events for Alumni Event
- 12:00pm – 1:00pm: Lunch with OTA Board of Directors
- 1:00pm – 2:00pm: Guest speaker – Wissam AlHussaini, Strategy and Enterprise Mindset, Schulich School of Business
- 2:00pm – 3:00pm: Registrants will have access to walk the showroom floor
- 3:00pm – 5:00pm: Reception with OTA Board of Directors
