OTA Meeting With City of Toronto

Share

OTA and other interested parties recently met with the City of Toronto to discuss ongoing issues with goods movement in the City, and their recent step-up of curbside enforcement under new Mayor John Tory. Industry representatives, including OTA, raised issues with the approach the City is taking and explained the realities of making deliveries in the downtown core.

OTA emphasized that the City needs to begin working with all sectors of the industry regarding a freight delivery plan.

During the meeting, the City provided answers to questions submitted by groups (Documents linked below) . In addition to the City’s response to the questions, maps for Wards 20 and 28, showing the location of existing courier delivery zones as well as the 31 new locations is also available at the links below.

OTA will be hosting a meeting on March 4, 2015 as a follow up with members and interested parties to discuss all these issues and to provide details on what OTA believes should be done next. For more information on this meeting, please contact jonathan.blackham@ontruck.org
