The application process for 2023 OTA Education Foundation post-secondary scholarships is now open. Students and parents alike are encouraged to browse the Foundation’s website (OTAEF.com) for both general and endowed scholarship opportunities to assist trucking industry-related families with post-secondary tuition and other expenses. The scholarship application deadline is July 15.
GENERAL scholarship applicants must meet eligibility criteria and be sponsored by an Ontario trucking or trucking services/supply company that employs or contracts a parent of the applicant. In addition, students must submit a brief essay that answers a question about the trucking industry.
Students entering their first year of post-secondary directly from high school are eligible to apply for the J.O. Goodman, the Bud Barr, George P. Ledson, or the C.V. Hoar Award, for which there are a few additional requirements. Information and instructions for the general scholarships, as well as the J.O. Goodman, Bud Barr, George P. Ledson, and C.V. Hoar awards are detailed on the Foundation’s website.
Parents and their university- and college-aged children are urged to check out the many scholarship opportunities that are offered through the OTA Education Foundation’s ENDOWED scholarship program. These annual scholarships have been established by trucking and service supply organizations through endowments that are managed by the Foundation.
Applications can be submitted using the Foundation’s online process for both types of scholarships.
