Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) would like to inform you that Stream 1 of the Green Freight Program will close its intake on February 6, 2026, or earlier if all available funding is fully allocated. This is a result of the significant demand and oversubscription the program has received from fleets across Canada.
Applications may continue to be submitted until February 6, 2026, or until all available funding is fully allocated, whichever comes first. Please note that program requirements remain unchanged: the project must already be completed when the application is submitted.
While Stream 1 will close its intake earlier than planned, they encourage organizations to explore other NRCan initiatives that support fuel efficiency and emissions reductions, including:
- SmartDriver – Training focused on fuel-efficient driving techniques
- SmartWay – A partnership program offering benchmarking tools and operational performance improvements
These resources remain available to support fleets in improving fuel economy and reducing operating costs.
