Over the past few weeks, MTO has been updating a number of their internal systems related to CVOR as part of their ongoing modernization efforts. While most of the updates (all computer software related) went according to plan, there were a few aspects that did not go as smoothly as hoped (itemized below with current status), but have been corrected or are in the process of being corrected.
CVOR Collision Profiles (corrections in progress)– began to show pointing for all collisions regardless of at-fault (normally points are only assigned when at fault is determined), which has temporarily skewed carrier CVOR violation rates. This issue is in the process of being fixed (planned for close of business April 8), but may last longer. During this time there will be no action taken by MTO if the overall violation rates goes past a threshold. All violation rates will be returned to the levels they were at prior to this glitch. Public access (CVOR Level I information) concerning carrier profiles has also been disabled during this time, as has the issuance of any Level II abstracts available to carriers. Once the collision profile issue has been corrected and carriers can once again access their abstracts, they are encouraged to review their collision profiles to determine if all of the pointing has returned to normal. Inquiries concerning outstanding issues on carrier profiles as a result of the software transition should be directed to MTO’s Client Services at the Carrier Safety Enforcement Branch by email at CVOR@ontario.ca .
CVOR Driver Abstracts (corrected)– Information previously suppressed on abstracts listing collisions where no at-fault was determined, began to appear. As a result, MTO suspended the issuance of drivers’ abstracts at Service Ontario locations for approximately a week until the issue was fixed – they came back online Tuesday am (April 5). MTO’s online applications and direct link software options to obtain abstracts were only impacted for a day or so. OTA continues to monitor all aspects daily and will provide updates as required.
