As part of the Ministry’s (MTO) modernization efforts, changes are coming to the issuance and distribution of CVOR certificates for carriers.
Going forward from late March/early April:
- An electronic copy of the CVOR certificate will be forwarded to carriers upon approved application/renewal from MTO;
- Carriers will be able to photocopy and distribute the CVOR certificate received from MTO*;
- Carriers will need to place new certificates in vehicles;
- CVOR certificates will now have an expiry date printed on them;.
- New CVOR applicants will need to pay their non-refundable application fee before they receive a CVOR;
- Carriers can choose to start receiving some correspondence via email (vs. Canada Post) from MTO*.
