The Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) is pleased to announce it has received a letter of “Completion of Technical Review 1” from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), for the new, state-of-the art Trucking Food Safety Program (TFSP) – Refrigerated / Frozen and Non-Perishable food products modules.
This caps a two-and-a-half year effort by the CTA. This official recognition is in compliance with the CFIA, Post Farm Food Safety Recognition Program.
The TFSP, which was developed for CTA by Kasar Canada, will ensure that trucking companies which implement this program will be in compliance with the current and upcoming requirements of the “Safe Food For Canadians Act” for transporting food products inter-provincially within Canada, as well as the USA’s Food Safety Modernization Act and its associated Sanitary Transportation of Human and Animal Foods Regulations for carriers that offer cross-border operations.
The CTA have been actively involved with transportation food safety since 2002, when the original analog version of the Trucking Food Safety Program was developed.
