CBP Survey on Eliminating e-Manifest Exemptions

Share

CTA was contacted by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (U.S. CBP) to discuss the impact of eliminating current exemptions for ACE e-Manifest for commercial vehicles.

The removal of these exemptions will then require carriers to submit ACE e-Manifest for all southbound empty trailers/containers.

The mandatory filing of ACE for empties has been a topic of discussion for many years, with the aim of reducing unnecessary congestion at the border. U.S. CBP is seeking feedback from CTA members regarding what impact these changes could have on the trucking industry, including additional costs, increased workload on staff or other operational issues.
