To improve the safety and fluidity of traffic on Route 201, Monseigneur-Langlois Boulevard, in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield (Quebec), a ban on transit trucking will come into effect on July 1.
As soon as this new measure is implemented, large vehicles with five or more axles, not stopping for local deliveries or pick-ups, will not be allowed to travel on Route 201, between Routes 132 and 338. The measure will be applied in both directions, 7 days a week, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
As an alternative, truckers will be invited to use Highway 30 through the toll booth.
The transponder will therefore be the most efficient method of passage, as it does not require any payment on site, and therefore no stopping. In addition, one lane per direction is dedicated to wide load vehicles.
There are no monthly costs nor service fees for the acquisition of the transponder.
Passage tracking is done on the A30 Express website, which allows for real-time tracking and much more efficient billing.
For more information or to acquire the transponder, visit the A30 Express website.
