In a letter received today, the Ministry of Transportation, are reminding industry of important changes coming to IRP Service Delivery in Ontario first announced in late January.
Messaging includes:
- Effective February 3, 2025, responsibility for delivering IRP services has been transferred from the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) to ServiceOntario. Until February 28, 2025, IRP services will continue to be delivered at 11 existing MTO IRP field offices.
- Effective March 3, 2025, in-person IRP services will be available by appointment at 16 ServiceOntario centres (please refer to the attached document for the locations of these centres). The final day of operation for MTO IRP field offices will be February 28, 2025.
- A dedicated ServiceOntario IRP Processing Team will review and process IRP applications, handle carrier communications and issue fee notices. This team will also manage IRP applications submitted via mail or courier. Starting March 3, 2025, the IRP Processing Team will be your primary point of contact for all IRP transaction needs. They can be reached via email at IRPprocessing@ontario.ca .
- In-person transactions will be available by appointment at 16 ServiceOntario Centres across Ontario. These centres will collect original documents, process payments and issue credentials to carriers. Carriers can schedule their appointments after they receive their fee notices by contacting the IRP Processing Team at IRPprocessing@ontario.ca .
