REMINDER: Want to Make Northern Ontario Highways Safer? We Need to Hear From Drivers

Share

Truck drivers move the economy and truck drivers’ voices need to be heard when decision makers consider infrastructure improvements and highway safety. The calls to improve highway safety in Northern Ontario are getting increasingly louder and OTA wants to hear from our members’ drivers to get insights into the issues and what they believe the solutions should be.

OTA is asking fleets to circulate the survey to their drivers and encourage their participation. The survey will be accessible online and by various smartphones in English, French and Punjabi. The survey requires no personal or corporate information to participate, and all results will be presented generically. Just click here and answer a handful of survey questions. It’ll just take a few minutes.

OTA has also created a QR code poster that can be printed and presented around workplaces. Participants just need to snap the code with their mobile devices to link directly to the survey. Click here OTA Survey Poster_public to download and print.

“The calls and emails to OTA continue to increase from fleets that truck drivers who have concerns about deteriorating highway safety conditions across Northern Ontario. The survey seeks feedback from drivers on the challenges at hand; what is working, what is not, and what drivers’ thoughts are on the necessary solutions,” said OTA Chair James Steed. “Input from professional drivers and fleets who operate through Northern Ontario every day is essential for OTA’s Board to develop effective positions.”

The survey results will be presented to the OTA Board of Directors, the Ministry of Transportation, and the Enforcement Community to develop solutions that will improve highway and truck driver safety in the region.
