As reported by the Ontario Trucking Association (OTA) yesterday and confirmed from multiple sources today, there is a protest occurring now on Hwy 402 in the westbound lanes starting at Nauvoo Road (exit #44) (formerly Hwy 79).
The OPP are diverting traffic around this section of highway by following the emergency detour routes (EDRs) and then back onto Hwy 402 so the flow of trucks, drivers and freight can continue onwards to the Bluewater Bridge.
OTA has also heard there is the potential for protests to occur in the Sarnia area around noon today, which may impact traffic in the area.
Blue Water Bridge officials have confirmed that they continue to work at maximum capacity to reduce the significant wait times for entry into Canada.
There is no current update regarding the situation at the Ambassador bridge, but OTA continues to work actively with officials at all levels to resolve this situation as soon as possible.
Members can continue to monitor road issues and potential delays through the Ontario 511 website.
OTA will provide more updates when they become available.
