Trucking HR Canada released today a new Women’s Resource Inventory for employers and employees in the industry.
The new, easy to navigate on-line resource includes links to mentorship information, training programs, business networks and associations for women, leadership development, best practices, and more.
Trucking HR Canada’s (THRC) Labour Market Information (LMI) research indicates the need for more women in the industry. With only 3% of drivers in Canada being female, there is room for improvement on this front. Additionally, THRC surveys of women working in the industry have two in three reporting they want more mentorship opportunities. With International Women’s Day 2021 rapidly approaching the timing couldn’t be better.
“Attracting more women into the trucking and logistics industry remains an important business issue.” says Angela Splinter, CEO at Trucking HR Canada. “Our continued growth as an essential sector will depend on our ability to better recruit and retain women.”
