10 am – 11 am: Beyond the Border: Looking Back while Moving Forward. The
Privy Council Office will highlight trucking-related achievements as part of Beyond of the Border Action Plan. An overview of the future for the Beyond the Border Action Plan will be included.
11:00 am – 11:15 am Break
11:15 – 12:15: Envisioning the Future Border; the View from Canada. Canada Border Services Agency will discuss the current state of the CA-US border, such as Advanced Commercial Information, Single Window Initiative, Trusted Trader Programs including operational updates on current initiatives contained in the Beyond the Border Action Plan. CBSA will also discuss the future of the border including initiatives that are being reviewed to improve the commercial process.
12:15 pm – 1:15 pm LUNCH (provided)
1:15 – 2:15 pm: Envisioning the Future Border; the View from the US. US Customs and Border Protection will review recent changes at the CA-US border related to the Beyond the Border Action Plan and highlight potential changes to the cross border experience for highway carriers.
2:15 – 2:45 pm: The Current and Future Border: What Emerging Change Means for Highway Carriers. A highway carrier panel will discuss the initiatives outlines by PCO, CBSA and CBP, outlining anticipated operational impacts to highway carriers. A summary of best practices will be reviewed and provided to participants to prepare for the next few years.
2:45 pm – 3 pm: Q & A with all speakers. Open forum.
