The Trucking Human Resources Sector Council Atlantic (THRSC) is conducting research to establish the link between essential skills and successful and safe performance of professional truck drivers and is hoping to learn more about essential skills and the training of professional drivers.
Three essential skills identified by the National Occupational Standard and that the THRSC are studying include: reading (e.g., reading materials such as memos and manuals), document use (e.g., use information displayed in graphs, tables, etc.), and numeracy/math (e.g., using numbers for calculations, measurement, etc). We hope to learn more about whether areas such productivity and safety are connected to the three essential skills.
In this survey you will be asked questions about:
- your company’s current training practices
- your awareness and understanding of essential skills
- the link between training and essential skills
This survey will take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete. All of your answers will be kept private and confidential. It is important that your answers be honest and accurate in reflecting your beliefs and feelings. Survey responses will be securely analyzed and stored by a third party research firm, Human Resource Systems Group, Ltd (HRSG). Your answers will be combined with other participants before they are written in any reports. To take the survey please click here http://fluidsurveys.com/s/THRSC_HR_Manager/
