Trucks For Change Network member carriers will devote their skills and their time to making affordable housing in the Kitchener-Waterloo region a reality September 20-22 and T4C is looking for more participants to take part.
Teams of employees from Liberty Linehaul, MacKinnon Transport, Mill Creek Motor Freight, TransPro Freight Systems, Bison Transport, Erb Transport, Midland Transport, and Trailer Wizards will join forces to work at a Habitat For Humanity build site in Waterloo.
“This is yet another great example of the trucking industry coming together to give back to its communities, while building team spirit at the same time,” said Pete Dalmazzi of Trucks For Change Network, which has organized the event.
The T4C teams are also trying to raise $10,000 to support Habitat For Humanity programs. You can help by making a corporate or personal tax-deductible donation to one or more of the teams at http://habitatwr.rallybound.org/Trucks-For-Change
Habitat For Humanity’s homebuilding program supports families needing a “hand up, not a hand-out” to realize their dream of home ownership. Partner families are required to volunteer 250 hours toward their home, and receive an interest-free mortgage to help them break the cycle of poverty. You can learn more about Habitat’s programs at www.Habitat.ca
Trucks For Change Network is a non-profit organization of community-minded carriers and industry partners working to assist charities and raise the public profile of trucking. Check T4C out at www.trucksforchange.org
