Freight market panel will feature heavy-hitters from Canada and the US
One of Canada’s most renowned international athletes will headline the speaker lineup at the Ontario Trucking Association’s 99th Executive Conference at the Delta Hotel in Toronto on Nov. 12.
George St. Pierre, former UFC welterweight and middleweight champion and one of the best pound-for-pound mixed martial artists of all-time, will join the conference the afternoon of Nov. 12 for an hour-long interview and audience Q&A.
The global superstar will talk about his upbringing and journey to become a multi-time world champion, with hard work, perseverance and resilience, and the ability to analyze opponents, formulate strategies, and deliver peak performances.
The rest of the agenda is equally amazing:
- Kicking things off the morning of Nov. 12, will be a presentation from the Fraser Institute on Canadian economic productivity trends and how they affect the trucking industry.
- Before lunch, two carrier members will delve into the world of AI in trucking. This is not an academic level overview, but will feature presentations on practical, real-world usage of AI tools and systems that make trucking companies safer, more efficient and profitable.
- Lunch will have the traditional agenda of highlighting Next Gen program participants and alumni as well as honouring pioneers.
- The popular freight market panel is back – this time packed with a group of heavy industry hitters. Avery Vice of FTR Associates will moderate an all-star panel made up of Murray Mullen, president and CEO of the Mullen Group; Ron Tepper, executive chair of Consolidated Fastfrate; and Tim Harrington, president of US Express. The state of the market; impact of tariffs, rapidly changing North American and global freight trends and trade patterns will all be up for discussion!
- The conference concludes with the always popular awards dinner gala, where we honour drivers, industry pioneers and mix in many belly laughs with special guest host, comedian Andrew Phung.
