The government of Ontario proposed a new policy direction for a modernized Drive Clean Program for heavy trucks. OTA has been working with its steering committee made up of member carriers and truck OEMs to help formulate the basis for this program.
The overall purpose of the proposed changes includes: developing an effective testing program that maximizes emissions reductions while reducing the need for regulatory burden; creating a level playing field; and achieving a high standard of compliance for all services provided by Drive Clean facilities, among other issues.
OTA is asking its membership to provide their valuable feedback through the survey link below to help formulate an association position for a modernized environmental program that monitors environmental compliance from the heavy-duty trucking sector.
