OTA: In Person Training Session on Pay Equity – March 7

Share

Under the new federal Pay Equity Act, employers are required to prepare pay equity plans that identify and correct systemic discrimination in the compensation paid to predominantly female job classes using a very prescribed methodology. The Act applies to federally regulated trucking companies with 10 or more employees. For larger employers and those with unions, these plans must also be jointly prepared in a pay equity committee.

In this session, OTA will be joined by Jackie VanDerMeulen to do a deeper diver into these obligations and to review practical considerations for achieving compliance. Jackie is a partner in Fasken’s labour and employment group in Toronto. She practices all aspects of labour and employment law, including working extensively with federally-regulated employers. Jackie also has a deep working knowledge of the technical aspects of pay equity which she will bring to this session.

While a general overview of pay equity will be provided, this session is intended to be a deeper diver session for those looking for implementation guidance. This session is open to all OTA members in good standing, free of charge. However, space is limited, and registration is required. Please click here to complete your registration for this event.
