The 2016-18 Ontario Trucking Association (OTA) Board of Directors was approved today at the OTA’s annual general meeting.
The board is representative of all sectors and all sizes of fleets from across the province.
“We are blessed as an association to have this level of commitment from leaders of the trucking industry and society. OTA Board members are individuals who are committed to the betterment of our industry and our communities. I’m honoured to lead such an esteemed group of professionals over the next two years,” said OTA Chair Steve Ondejko, president of Onfreight Logistics.
Here’s a profile of the OTA Board member companies followed by a list of Board members themselves:
- Over 80% of OTA Board member companies are family owned and operated.
- Over 90% of Board member companies have been in business for over 20 years.
- OTA Board member fleets are made up of all sizes with 23% of the Board having 50 or less trucks and 30% of the Board having 250 trucks or more.
- 80% of Board member companies have received some form of award recognition from fleet safety, environmental, charity, community service, human resource and customer recognition awards.
- More than 90% of Board members themselves have 20-plus years of experience in the trucking industry.
- At least 75% of the Board volunteer or donate to charity and over 50% of Board members are politically active in either federal/provincial or municipal politics.
- Over half of OTA Board members sit on other Boards outside of OTA.
