The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) and Service Ontario, (SO) are encouraging industry members to proactively submit eligible applications.
Both groups issued a note to industry. Details are below:
As October progresses, we anticipate a seasonal increase in International Registration Plan (IRP) application volumes. To support timely and consistent service delivery, we encourage carriers to submit applications that are eligible for processing as early as possible.
We also encourage carriers to take advantage of online application options. Online applications continue to be a fast and reliable option that supports streamlined processing and minimizes turnaround time.
As always, IRP applications can be submitted through the following channels:
- Online at www.ontario.ca/page/international-registration-plan (recommended)
- Email: IRPProcessing@ontario.ca

IRP applications are processed within the service commitments posted online. If carriers have any questions, they can contact ServiceOntario’s IRP Contact Centre Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 1-833-941-4528 (toll-free in Canada and the U.S.) or by email at IRPProcessing@ontario.ca.
OTA will continue to monitor IRP volumes with MTO and SO to ensure applications are being processed and fleets
