Share

MTO’s Carrier Program Development Office is actively reminding the trucking industry that Ontario’s Electronic Logging Device (ELD) mandate will begin enforcement on Jan. 1, 2023.

MTO is sharing with industry information documents and material which explains the mandate, including application and exemption criteria, details regarding operator and driver responsibilities, as well as links to web content.

Click here for EN MTO-ELD Info Pamphlet-Nov 2022_public & FR MTO-ELD Info Pamphlet-Nov 2022-FR_public versions.

The pamphlet is intended as an informational resource to promote awareness of Ontario’s ELD mandate and related requirements.

For additional questions or information regarding the attached pamphlets, please contact the Carrier Program Development Office at cpdo@ontario.ca.

OTA will also be hosting another ELD webinar with MTO December 20 at 1:30 pm EST. This continues the OTA-MTO series of webinars held throughout summer and fall to ensure the industry has all of the information they need in advance of the January 1 enforcement date.

The Webinars will provide further updates to MTO’s plans for full enforcement starting in the New Year, including how inspections of ELDs will take place roadside and how drivers carriers can prepare themselves.
