Cooney Transit is asking OTA members’ assistance is locating/recovering a stolen tractor and trailer.
On Sunday June 29 at 9:04pm two men drove a Jeep Wrangler stolen previously that evening from a garage in Belleville to the Cooney Transit yard in Napanee.
The two men broke into the yard and drove in with the Jeep. They then cut the seals and opened all of the trailers in the yard to determine which one to steal.
Unable to start two trucks, they were able to start a third, hook up to a trailer and leave the property.
The plate of the truck that was stolen is 3896PW. The truck has the number 65 on the hood and is clearly marked by the Cooney Transit logo on the doors of the cab. The trailer belonged Steinman and was labelled with number 761 (see image below).
