OTA working with MTO & Service Ontario to provide relief, ease concerns
OTA is aware that many fleets are still experiencing challenges and delays in renewing IRP plates and completing other transactions as the program continues to transition to Service Ontario.
OTA is in hourly contact with both MTO and Service Ontario to make them aware of the challenges and the time-sensitive nature of processing all transactions to ensure drivers and trucks can get on the road to support our supply chains and our province during these challenging times.
To ease concerns from the industry, MTO and Service Ontario are reportedly finalizing details on an extension for IRP plates with pending expirations and prioritizing delayed applications to ensure no further disruptions occur.
OTA has asked this information to be a priority for MTO to get out to industry. As soon as this information is officially available, it will be communicated to the OTA membership. We are hopeful MTO will provide this information to industry later today or tomorrow at the latest.
To assist OTA further in understanding the full scope of the issues facing members. those who have applications in the queue and/or who have not had communications returned from Service Ontario on their transaction status can provide details to operations_safety@ontruck.org. Please include the following information with your email: (Company Name, IRP Account#, any attachments sent to Service Ontario and any other transaction or account identifiers).
