Hey Man, Got Plaid? Help OTA Become Top Organization to Fight Prostate Cancer

With just a few days remaining until Father’s Day, the Ontario Trucking Association is currently leading in first place for the top fundraising organization taking part in Prostate Cancer Canada’s Wear Plaid For Dad campaign.

Propelled by the support of several generous carrier members, OTA so far is leading the national list with over $10,000 raised, far surpassing its total from last year when the association and member carriers combined to finish second among all workplaces in Canada. (OTA, through donations collected at its recent golf tournament, directly contributed $1000 to the total).

However, that lead, as it stands, isn’t expected to last as several other companies and organizations are nipping at OTA’s heels for top spot.

That’s why we need more carriers to make a pledge through OTA’s account to support the fight against prostate cancer while ensuring the trucking industry secures first place in the 2016 campaign drive. To do so click here.

The timing couldn’t be better to participate. Friday June 17 is Wear Plaid For Dad Day. Thousands of Canadians will be wearing plaid to support the cause and help protect men from prostate cancer. It’s a fun and easy way to help the 1 in 8 men who will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.

Since OTA is leading the funding race, we figured it was appropriate to take the lead on Wear Plaid For Dad as well and get a bit of a head start with our staff plaid-clad pose (see pic above). Friday is the official day to wear plaid so we encourage other companies to post their best plaid group pics on social media tomorrow (mention @ontruck and hashtag #wearplaidfordad on Twitter).

Rocco Rossi, CEO Prostate Cancer Canada, has been singing the praises of the trucking industry since OTA helped PCC launch the countdown to Wear Plaid For Dad at Truck World in April.

Make sure the hype doesn’t fizzle out and show why trucking is the top industry focused on fighting prostate cancer. Donate now.
