Brittany Hermiston has been awarded this year’s Grant’s Transport Limited Mathematics scholarship. Hermiston, who was very active within her high school community, will be heading to the University of Guelph in September, where she plans to obtain her Bachelor of Science. From there, the Ontario scholar hopes to return home in Northern Ontario and open her very own veterinary practice.
Grant’s President, Gord Grant, welcomes the opportunity to recognize students like Hermiston, “This is a great way to give back to our local community, and to assist a hard-working and dedicated individual with tuition and other university costs.”
The scholarship is awarded to the top university-bound math student in Timiskaming District Secondary School every year and is funded by an endowment established by Grant’s Transport and administered by the OTA education foundation.
