Get Ready for National Trucking Week 2025!

Throughout decades, professional truck drivers haven’t stopped delivering for Canadians.

They’re the unsung heroes of Canada’s economy and while they should be celebrated all year-round, let’s make sure we take some time during National Trucking Week (Sept. 7-13) to show these hard-working men and women the respect and recognition they deserve for being the backbone of our economy.

“Ontario is home to the largest trucking population in Canada. I’m proud to be a part of this hard-working community,” says Mark Bylsma, OTA Chair. “My message to the trucking workforce is that we are and will continue to push all levels of government to rid the sector of the lawlessness that is becoming a dominant force in our sector. I commend all the law-abiding, compliant and responsible trucking workers and trucking companies that make our industry great.”

National Trucking Week was launched by the Canadian Trucking Alliance and provincial associations in the late 1990s as a way to embrace the industry and spotlight the contributions of the hundreds of thousands of men and women of the Canadian trucking industry who keep the country’s freight moving, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

“Our economy and country need dependable, safe and professional truck drivers more than ever,” said CTA chair Greg Arndt. “It’s no secret our sector is in crisis as it grapples with a trade war and an out-of-control underground economy that is undermining law and order and eroding safety. That is why it’s important to recognize next week the tens of thousands of dedicated truck drivers who work for responsible, compliant carriers and who continue to be one of Canada’s most important economic resources.”

During NTW, various events will be taking place across the Ontario and the country in which the trucking community comes together to celebrate the industry; recognize those who are the backbone of Canada’s economy and to promote the industry’s dedication to safety and environmental enhancement.

There will be barbecues, picnics, truck show ‘n shines and all kinds of other things happening at company facilities throughout the province. Community leaders and local politicians are encouraged to attend constituency events.

To support the industry and the public in celebrating the occasion, CTA has developed some social media banners for sharing on your platforms throughout the week. CLICK here to access the creative assets.
