CTA Ads Reinforce Respect, Celebrate Drivers During NTW

Without truck drivers, Canada would literally stop functioning.

So, to highlight the incredible job performed daily by the 400,000 Canadian men and women who keep the country’s freight moving, the Canadian Trucking Alliance published a series of ads for National Trucking Week (Sept. 1-7) in various English and French-language trucking and supply chain trade magazines. See the ads here: CTA-DRIVERS-WELCOME-EN_public, CTA-RESPECT-EN_public, CTA-WITHOUT-DRIVER-EN_public, CTA-WITHOUT-DRIVER-FR_public

The ads serve as a reminder to respect and celebrate the incredible contributions of Canada’s truck drivers and transportation workers in support of the Canadian economy.

During NTW week, transport companies across the country are encouraged to host events that help will bring the trucking community together to celebrate a job well done by those who form the backbone of the trucking industry.

In previous years, provincial associations and individual companies have marked the occasion with newspaper supplements, radio advertising, contests, special promotions, and special events at their facilities. BBQs, breakfasts, truck washes, offered special giveaways to truck drivers and other employees are always popular events. (We’d love to see what the industry is up to during NTW, so tag us in your Twitter posts using @cantruck and hashtag #NTW2019)

By telling the story of truck drivers, we tell the story of the entire industry,” says CTA chair Scott Smith. “Needless to say, our industry’s truck drivers should be recognized every day by their industry for the amazing job they do. But, this NTW, we hope these ads serve to reinforce the critical role our employees play in support of Canadian families and moving the economy forward. I personally want to say ‘thank you’ to all of them.”

CTA is encouraging fleets to download the NTW ads and print-and-post them their facilities as well as share them with customers.

OTA members who want their own company logos inserted into the ads are free to do so in-house or they can email OTA’s Communications Assistant erica.giansante@ontruck.org a high-res logo and we can do it for you. Just indicate which ad you would like customized with your logo.
