CRA Hosting National Carbon Tax Webinar for CTA With a Focus on Reporting Requirements

Share

CRA will be hosting another national webinar on the federal carbon pricing system for the Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) on June 19, 2019.

Under the federal system, carriers operating through jurisdictions that do not have a federally-approved carbon pricing system are required to register and report their fuel usage to Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) as part of their quarterly returns. In turn, carriers may also receive a rebate or be levied a surcharge depending on their calculations in their quarterly report.

While past webinars for CTA members were intended to introduce carriers to the system and the registration process, this webinar will dedicate more time to the reporting process. Under the federal system, the first report is due to the CRA in July 2019.

This webinar is an excellent opportunity for carriers to learn more about the reporting process and to engage with regulators. It is highly recommended that all inter-provincial carriers have staff participate in this webinar.

This event is open to all members of the provincial trucking associations within the CTA federation at no cost. Due to limitations of the government’s hosting system, the webinar will be held on a first come/first serve basis. Should it be needed, CTA will arrange for additional webinars to be held for member carriers that are unable to participate.
