OTA has learned that the Central Examination Station (CES) located at 6000 Wyoming Avenue, Detroit Mich. providing US Customs and Border Protection examinations and offloads will be closing. Effective May 10, 2015 carriers using the services at this CES will be required to report to the Fort Street Cargo Facility when selected for US CBP exam or offload.
US CBP staff located at the CES will be redistributed to the port to accommodate the shifting volume. The CES at Wyoming Avenue has been in operation since October 2010. Prior to its operation all trucks reported to the Fort Street Cargo Facility, so many carriers will already be familiar with the Fort Street Cargo Facility location. See details below:
