Business Issues Take Centre Stage at OTA Council Summit

Trucking professionals interested in the money, expenses, sales, and freight market trends in the industry will have a rich palette of interesting topics to choose from at the upcoming OTA Council Summit on June 20 in Toronto.

The second Finance Council is specifically geared for carrier CFOs to discuss all the issues related to the money side of trucking!

The finance committee will continue the interactive discussion focusing on:

  • Emerging industry financial trends this year – Led by Ray Height, TCA Profitability Program
  • The pros and cons of hedging diesel prices – Led by Olena Zabolotna, Director, RBC Capital Markets
  • The pros and cons of hedging FX prices – Led by Geoffrey Bellemore, Vice President, RBC Capital Markets
  • New ways to manage client credit risk – Led by Jason Del Rizzo, Marsh Canada,

After lunch, participants of all council sessions be invited to take in the trucking industry outlook panel in the afternoon, covering trends in the marketplace impacting carriers. Topics will include, the freight economy landscape, customer supply chain management, labour supply, human resources, among other things.

This afternoon panel will be made up of Bob Costello, VP, American Trucking Association; Noel Perry, principal, Transport Economics, Royce Mendes, senior economist, CIBC; Steve Ondejko, president, Onfreight Logistics; Rob Penner, President & CEO, Bison Transport; Genevieve Gagnon, president XTL Transport; and Ken Rosenau, president Rosenau Transport.
