Weigh2GoBC is a network of Weigh in Motion and Automatic Vehicle Identification hardware that is located at various locations throughout BC.
The purpose of the program is to allow commercial carriers faster delivery by not having to stop at multiple stations for a period of 24 hours. It also saves staff time by not having to look at the same truck multiple times in a day.
By registering with the program and installing a transponder on the dash of each truck, it allows electronic reporting to those equipped inspection stations. The roadside hardware communicates with the transponder, runs a number of credential checks and then signals the driver by way of a green light which means that they can bypass that station or a red light which means that the vehicle must report.
