ATA Conducting Due Diligence, Confirming Exemption from OSHA Vaccination Mandate for US Truck Drivers

OTA continues to follow developments being reported by the American Trucking Associations (ATA) with respect to the Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA) vaccine mandate impacting US truck drivers.

In news shared earlier today with the Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) and ATA membership, ATA President and CEO Chris Spear issued a statement which is signalling that solo truck drivers could be exempt from the requirements and that ATA is in the process of confirming this information.

President Biden announced Thursday that all companies with 100 employees or more must require staff to be vaccinated with the COVID vaccine by January 4.

OTA will continue to follow the rapidly changing developments coming out of Washington and await results of ATA’s due diligence on the applicability of the OSHA rule for truck drivers. Membership will be kept up to date as more information becomes available.
