Ontario Transportation Minister Steve Del Duca recently reached out to OTA to express his gratitude for OTA’s efforts to make this summer’s Pan Am games a resounding success.
“A key element of success was due to your efforts to reduce transportation demand on our highways and keeping the region moving,” wrote Del Duca. “(OTA’s) willingness to go above an and beyond helped showcase Ontario as a great place to do business.”
He added that OTA’s efforts contributed to improving the efficiency of the transportation network and were most “certainly a great benefit to motorists and the Games-related vehicles.”
Del Duca mentioned OTA’s Jonathon Blackham’s was instrumental in working with ministry staff and games officials to organize information sessions and strengthen communication with the trucking industry.
OTA is committed to working with the province on congestion issues and will continue to update members accordingly.
