OTA was proud to join member carriers such as the Erb Group, and Challenger Motor Freight and GFL Environmental at the latest Explore Trucking Careers – Transportation 101 Bootcamp in Toronto. The event, organized by OTA partner, the Toronto Business Development Centre, was geared towards promoting the trucking industry and trucking career opportunities to young women. OTA VP of Communications Marco Beghetto was one of several guests who spoke to about 75 attendees about the trucking industry and the many benefits and opportunities it offers to career seekers. The women-only event highlights pathways, programs and support systems for women interested in working in the transportation industry. Before the speaking sessions, attendees were invited to tour a trade area where they could speak to potential employers like OTA members Erb, Challenger and GFL and well as experience what driving a commercial heavy truck is like by hopping behind the wheel of a truck driving simulator.
