Trucks For Change Network is urging the trucking industry to support communities by participating in its “Clean House For a Cause” charity initiative during the month of December.
To participate, simply walk your office, shop, dock, warehouse, or yard (or better yet, all of the above) this month to identify surplus items worthy of donating to charity. Items could include extra office or shop furniture, unclaimed freight, or even surplus vehicles or equipment in working order. Send a description and photo of your “surplus but serviceable” items to Trucks For Change Network, and they’ll offer them to partner charities such as Food Banks and Habitat For Humanity ReStores across Canada, and many other worthwhile community organizations.
Arrangements will be made to have your donation picked up, and you could be eligible for a donation tax receipt. It’s a “win-win” proposition – you’ll enter 2015 with a “clean house” and the great feeling of having made a difference in your community.
To participate, please call Trucks For Change Network at 905-844-8658, or visit www.trucksforchange.org for details.
Trucks For Change Network is a non-profit organization endorsed by the OTA dedicated to helping the trucking industry make a difference in communities.
