Topics discuss fatigue, sleep apnea, nutrition, weight management, illness and injury prevention, specifically as they relate to truck drivers. Examples of simple exercise routines designed for the road are also included. The individual topics of this course are also available in standalone format.

Maximizing Your Fuel Efficiency

This course provides a foundation for fuel efficient driving, outlining the factors that influence fuel efficiency (both in and out of a driver' s control) and driving habits that maximize efficiency. Online learning content is equivalent to one half-day classroom course. Course concludes with a knowledge exam to validate learning.

An introduction to FMCSA' s Compliance, Safety, Accountability progam (formerly Comprehensive Safety Analysis 2010), explaining the program background, Operational Model, the 6 BASICs and Crash Indicator, weighting, and interventions. The Safety Fitness Determination and Pre-Employment Screening program are also discussed.

An overview of safe practices for lift truck operation, as outlined in CSA Standard B335-94. A discussion of requirements for safe operation in different situations is supplemented with a look at lift truck regulations, common hazards, descriptions of lift truck components and maintenance requirements.

An overview of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System, specifically for transportation industry workers. Topics include employee rights & responsibilities, the six classes of hazardous materials, supplier labels, workplace labels, Material Safety Data Sheets, and biohazard exposure. A comparison of WHMIS and TDG is also included, highlighting how the two standards work together.

Transportation of Dangerous Goods

This course provides drivers with the necessary skills to find and apply required information in the TDG Clear Language Regulations. Specific topics address identifying dangerous goods, locating information in Schedules 1, 2, and 3, determining the accuracy of shipping documents, determining whether different goods can be transported together, choosing the proper safety marks, identifying safe handling and loading procedures, and locating information in the ERG. Upon completion, participants will be certified to handle, transport, and offer DG for transport.

An introduction to the North American Cargo Securement Standards, including the importance of cargo securement, the primary components of a cargo securement system, and the correct use of each component. Content in this course is based on the North American Cargo Securement Standard (Canadian NSC Standard 10 and 49 CFR 393.100 & 393.136).
