The Sleep and Fatigue Institute is a National center of excellence, dedicated to Clinical care, Research, and Corporate consulting on Sleep and Fatigue problems. Our corporate consulting arm, Fatigue Solutions, specializes in research and comprehensive Fatigue Management in 24/7 operations, Transportation in particular.
Our Medical Director, Dr Adam Moscovitch, is an internationally recognized expert in this field, with 3 years of formal fellowship training in Sleep and Fatigue Medicine, beyond his primary specialty. Together with his colleagues (Ex Dr. Ron Heslegrave, Dr Wayne Rhodes, Lane Kranenburg,) he was the conceptualizer, developer and lead investigator on what eventually became the “North American Fatigue Management Program (NAFMP) for CMV Transportation. We also developed and field tested a step- wise screening, management and follow up program for Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA)in CMV drivers, which has been effectively implemented with >1500 CMV drivers to date, without interference with their occupational functioning and driving ability. We can take care of your drivers, wherever they might be in North America. Our consultants are regularly asked to work with Industry, such as Canadian Trucking Alliance or CCMTA, and have been involved also with advising on Hours of service regulations (HOS), both in Canada and the US. We also maintain respective University affiliations, and Dr Moscovitch is an Associate Clinical Professor with the University of Calgary, and his research work was recognized with the Clinical Researcher of the year award (2004) of his academic department. While Dr Moscovitch does not hold a CMV license, he has a Tank license, from his days as a commanding combat officer in the Israeli army.
